Abstract
Objective To observe the function and clinical significance of serum C-reactive protein (CRP) on patients suffering from acute cerebral infarction. Methods To adopt im mune nephelometry to undertake dynamic observation on the .serum CRP level of 60 patients suffering from acute cerebral infarction (on the 1st,7th and 14th day of disease course),and compare with 45 healthy per- sons. Results The serum CRP of the patients with acute cerebral infarction increased on the first day of disease course(P<0.01), reaching the peak on the 7th day,and then decreased.Serum CRP level of severe patients was significantly higher than those of moder- ate and mild patients. Conclusion Serum CRP may be of certain effect on the occurrence and development of acute cerebral infarction and shows positive correlation with the severity of disease.
