Abstract

[Objective]To understand the dose level of radiation workers and their protection status in Shijiazhuang City, and provide evidence for future protection.[Methods]According to the System Performance Testing Specification for Individual External Dose GBZ 207-2008,the thermoluminescence dose meter method was adopted for annual monitoring of 6 times.[Results] Totally about 1 000 workers received 3 consecutive years monitoring of individual dose level of external radiation, with an average annual dose equivalent to 1.99(mSv/a-1),collective dose equivalent to 9 556.14 man·mSv.The annual averaged dose equivalent of radiation workers in municipal medical units was 2.68 mSv/a which was the top of all radiation units. The annual averaged dose equivalent of workers engaged in interventional radiology was 2.30 mSv/a which was the top of all kinds of jobs with radiation exposure.[Conclusion]Under the normal working conditions, most of the radiation workers are safe, but it is still necessary to strengthen mandatory dose monitoring on some individual units and individuals types of work.Protection knowledge training on radiation workers should be strengthened to improve the radiological protection levels.
