Abstract
Objective:To observe the efficacy and safety of domestic tiotropium bromide inhalation in patients with stable mild and moderate chronic obstructive pulmonary disease(COPD).Methods: A randomized and double blind placebo-controlled clinical trail was conducted in patients with COPD.A total of 60 patients were assigned to receive tiotropium bromide by inhalation or conventional therapy(control). The following indices between two groups were compared before and after treatment: lung function,6 minute walk distance, scores of clinical symptoms and times of exacerbation.Meanwhile,we observed the adverse reactions in two groups. Results: In tiotropium group, the FEV1,FVC and IC significantly increased,6 minute walk distance and clinical symptoms were improved better, and the times of exacerbation were reduced as compared with the control group(P0.05).Significant adverse reactions were not found during the treatment. Conclusion: Domestic tiotropium bromide inhalation is an effective and safe bronchodilator in treating mild to moderate COPD.
