Abstract

OBJECTIVE: To observe the clinical efficacy of tiotropium bromide inhalation in the treatment of patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease(COPD) at stable stage.METHODS: A total of 60 patients with COPD were randomly assigned to receive tiotropium bromide by inhalation(trial group) or conventional therapy(control group).Indices such as lung function,6 minute walk distance, and score of clinical symptoms in the two groups before and after treatment were compared.RESULTS: In trial group compared with the control group, the FEV1/FVC and the percentage of FEV1 in the predicted value increased significantly, and 6 minute walk distance and clinical symptoms showed better improvement(P0.05 or P0.01).CONCLUSION: Tiotropium bromide can effectively improve lung function and clinical symptoms in COPD patients.
