Analysis of Use of Anti-infectives in Outpatients

Abstract

OBJECTIVE:To investigate the use of anti-infectives in outpatient and emergency departments of our hospital and to evaluate the rationality of drug use.METHODS:10 110 prescriptions from Feb.to.June in 2007 were randomly selected from outpatient and emergent department for analysis of the use of anti-infectives.RESULTS:Of the total 10 110 prescriptions examined,3 498(34.60%) were anti-infective prescriptions,of which,3 032(86.68%) prescribed only one kind of anti-infectives,457(13.06%) prescribed 2 kinds and 9(0.26%) prescribed more than 2 kinds of anti-infectives concomitantly.CONCLUSION:The use of anti-infectives in outpatient and emergency department of our hospital is basically rational yet far from perfect,and the rational drug use level should be further improved.
