Abstract
Objective To explore the characteristics of the incidence and epidemic trends of pulmonary tuberculosis in Shunyi district in the five years and to provide scientific basis for improving the strategy of prevention and control for tuberculosis. Methods Descriptive epidemiological analysis was conducted based on the data of tuberculosis cases(2008-2012) in Shunyi district. Results There were totally 813 pulmonary tuberculosis cases among the residents investigated in Shunyi district in 2008 to 2012 and the annual reported incidence of tuberculosis was 27.89/100,000. The incidence of tuberculosis began to decline since 2009. There was significant difference between different years(χ2=15.30, P=0.04). The reported incidence of male and female was 37.15/100,000 and 18.77/100,000, respectively. The incidence of male was obviously higher than that of female(χ2=88.41, P0.01). There were 262 pulmonary tuberculosis cases in 15 to 24 years old cases, accounting for 32.32% of the total tuberculosis cases, and occupational distributions of tuberculosis incidence revealed high rates among farmers and students. Conclusions The incidence rate of pulmonary tuberculosis decreased gradually from 2008 to 2012, while the adolescences, farmers and students are still the key population for tuberculosis prevention and treatment in the future in Shunyi district of Beijing.
