Abstract

Objective To study the difference of efficacy and side effect of sertraline in the treatment of depression. Methods 6 comparative studies of sertraline and other antidepressants in the treatment of depression were analyzed by meta-ananlysis. Results The significant difference in change of symptom before and after treatment by sertraline was found;Comparison between sertraline and the controlled antidepressants at 2 weeks treatment and at the end of each trial showed that there was no significant difference with respect to the clinical efficacy. Conclusion Sertraline has a similar clinical effecacy compared with controlled antipsychotics.
