The clinical analysis and nursing of 42 cases with paraquat poisoning

Objective To explore the pathogenesis,clinical manifestation,treatment and nursing of paraquat poisoning.Methods Clinical data of 42 patients with paraquat poisoning was analyzed retrospectively.Results Among 42 patients,33 cases died,mortality rate was 78.6%.Nobody survived in the patients accompanied by respiratory failure or organs failure of 3 and more.The cases received hemo perfusion died less.Conclusion Paraquat poisoning can lead to multiple organ failure and has a poor prognosis.It could improve the success rate of treatment that clearing off poison and large doses of glucocorticoid and hemo perfusion are administered as soon as possible.
