Abstract

Objective To discuss clinical efficacy of insulin combined with oral metformin in treatment of type 2 diabetes. Methods Selected 60 cases with type 2 diabetes from October 2011 to October 2012 admitted in our hospital were randomly divided into observation group and control groups, each group with 30 cases. Control group were given oral medication metformin, and observation group was treated with insulin combined with oral metformin. The clinical efficacy was observed in two groups. Results After treatment, blood glucose levels in two groups decreased significantly more than before treatment, and glucose level in the observation group was lower than the control group, P 0.05; The total efficiency of the observation group was significantly higher than control group(96.67% VS 70.00%), and incidence of adverse reactions was significantly lower than control group(26.67% VS 73.33%), P 0.05,with statistically significant difference. Conclusion Insulin combined with oral metformin in treatment of type 2 diabetes shows significant effect, less adverse reactions, worthy of clinical promotion.
