Mesh plug tension-free hernioplarstry in treatment of inguinal hernia

Objective To summarize the clinical experience of mesh plug tension-free hernioplasty in repairing inguinal hernia.Methods To retrospectively analyse the clinical datas of 185 patients receiving mesh plug tension-free hernioplasty from February 2006 to January 2011 in our hospital.Results There was no perioperative death in this group.The surgery went very smoothly and the curative effects were satisfactory.Complications were mainly local swelling,effusion,foreign body sensation and pain.All of the cases were followed up 6 months to 4 years and 1 case of recurrence.Conclusion Mesh plug tension-free hernioplasty has advantages of less trauma and faster recovery,less complications and lower recurrence rate,and it is the ideal treatment of inguinal hernia surgical procedures.
