Abstract
Objective:To explore the expression of p27 and Ki-67 in renal cell carcinoma(RCC) and evaluate the relationship between p27 expression and tumor cell proliferation. Methods: 86 cases of RCC and 20 pericancerous tissue specimens were studied by immunohistochemistry. Results:In RCC,p27 expression decreased, while Ki-67 LI increased significantly;p27 expression was negatively related to the Ki-67 labeling index (Ki-67 LI), the tumor pathological grade, clincal stage and lymphoid node metastases. Conclusions: p27 expression and Ki-67 LI reflect RCC's growing and invasive ability from the point of proliferation and angiogenesis respectively. Combined examination of p27 and Ki-67 LI has an important siginficance in evaluating RCC's biological behavior and prognosis.
