A Study on the Reclamation of Sichuan Frontier Region in the Late Qing Dynasty

In the late Qing Dynasty,the Government began to change its policy from ruling by following the local customs to the policy of integrating the frontier region with the interior,which became the focus of the memorials to the throne and the new policy orientation for controlling the frontier region.The rich archives and documents have proven that the Government for the first time gave priority to the economic development of the frontier region while implementing the new policy,which found expression in the migrants' reclamation in Sichuan frontier region.
