An Introduction of Managing Idea and Strategy of Yunnan Frontier Regions in Ming and Qing Dynasty and the Contrast

The administration of Yunnan frontier regions underwent a long process from weak to intensified by successive rulers in Chinese history. Large-scale exploration was first made during Ming and Qing dynasty.During this period,the rulers realized further the importance of Yunnan frontier regions, then took effective measures,such as intensifying inland-ization of Yunnan politically,opening up the frontier regions economically and addressing Confucian education culturally.In addition,Confucian-centered inland culture gradually spread to the frontier by setting up schools broadly at all levels so that Yunnan associated with inland regions in politics,culture and economy at unprecedented level.However,Ming and Qing dynasty differed in their administration of Yunnan,displaying distinctive characteristics of age,stage and inheritance.
