Abstract

Objective To observe the different surgical methods and effect of primary angle-closure glaucoma with cataract. Methods 40 eyes of 36 cases with primary angle-closure glaucoma with cataract, phacoemulsification and IOL implantation was performed on 28 eyes, phacoemulsification,IOL implantation and trabeculectomy was performed on 9 eyes, the surgical procedure of glaucoma had firstly been performed and then phacoemulsification and IOL implantation was done on 3 eyes.Follow up was 1-12 months. Results Postoperative vision had increased in different degress. The intraocular pressure of 25 eyes were normal and 3 eyes were nomal under the drug control in the group of phacoemulsification and IOL implantation. The intraocular pressure of 9 eyes with the tripe procedure and 3 eyes with the second operation were well controlled.Corneal edema in 5 eyes, including 3 eyes(10.71%) in phacoemulsification and 2 eyes(22.22%)in the tripe procedure.2 eyes with postoperatively significant exudation in anterior chamber were all in the tripe procedure. Conclusion The right methods selected according to the result of the examination can reduce the intraocular pressure and improve vision with fewer complications.
