On the Mechanism and Major Forms of Inheritance of Shanghai Urban Folk Cultures

Inheritance is an extremely important issue in conserving folk cultural heritage.In Shanghai,a metropolis rich in folk cultural resources,there exist many modes in the inheritance of folk cultures,including family inheritance,trade inheritance,and social inheritance.Presently due to the gradually decreasing of successors,the passing down and very existence of many folk cultures and intangible cultural heritage in Shanghai are threatened.Therefore a well-designed inheritance mechanism of folk cultures is urgently expected to be established,and efforts should be made to enhance the protection of heritors and to improve the mass' especially young people's identification with folk cultures,so as to revert the situation of lack of successors.
