Abstract

Objective To establish a GC method for the determination of borneol in Qilisan. Methods Using methyl salicylate as inter-standard, the content of borneol was assayed by DB-5 capillary column with FID detector, programmed temperature and high pure helium as carrier gas with the flow rate of 1 mL/min. Results The linear range of borneol was 0.301 8 ̄2.012 μg. The average recovery of borneol was 96.3 % with RSD of 1.08%. Conclusion This method is accurate, reliable and reproducible. It can be used for the assay of borneol in Qilisan.
