The New Studies on Yan Yu's ‘the First Principle’ and ‘Wu’

Abstract

According to chapter 1 of Canglang Shihua,Yan Yu advises young to take excellent poetry as examples.The process of learning is absolutely based on Wu.The of Yan Yu means objective standards of excellent poetries.Wu is comprehension capability of artistic thoughts.The subject of Wu is poems of the principle.Guo Shao-yu,which divides Wu into two different parts,the first principle way and the clear way,has miscomprehended Yan Yu's original intention.Yan Yu's Wu includes clear way and the confusion,which have a correspondence in form of artistic.Yan Yu's Miaowu should be interpreted as clever realization,which is method of Wu.
