Abstract
Objective To observe the difference of brachial-ankle pulse wave velocity(baPWV) among patients with essential hypertension(EH group),patients with diabetes and essential hypertension(EH+DM group),and healthy volunteers. Methods The blood pressure, pulse pressure, blood glucose, blood fat,BMI,creatinine and baPWV were detected and compared among 36 patients with essential hypertension,35 patients with diabetes and essential hypertension and 35 healthy volunteers in our department. Results The fasting blood glucose levels of patients in the EH+DM group were higher than the other two groups(P0.01).The BMI,creatinine, systolic pressure, diastolic pressure, pulse pressure and low density lipoprotein-cholestero levels of patients in the EH+DM group were obviously higher than healthy volunteer group(P0.01).The systolic pressure、diastolic pressure, pulse pressure and low density lipoprotein-cholesterol levels of patients in EH group were higher than healthy volunteer group(P0.01).There was no difference in BMI,fasting blood glucose, creatinine between EH group and healthy volunteer group. The baPWV of patients in EH+DM group and EH group was higher than healthy volunteer group(P0.01).The baPWV of patients in EH+DMgroup was higher than EH group(P0.05).Conclusions The baPWV in the patients with EH+DMis higher than EH group and healthy volunteer group. There is a relationship between the rising of baPWV and rising of systolic pressure, diastolic pressure, pulse pressure and lowdensity lipoprotein-cholesterol.
