Abstract
Objective To isolate and identify Streptococcus suis and provide scientific basis for diagnosis, treatment and control of the disease. Methods Blood-agar substrates were used to cultivate and isolate pathogens from the blood and cerebrospinal fluid(CSF) of patients. The reference serum coagulating tests were conducted and the specific serotypes were identified by API 20 strep biochemical tests and 16SrRNA,capsule polysaccharide 2A(cps2A),muramidase-released protein(mrp) and hemolysin gene(hly) were detected by PCR. Results 16SrRNA,cps2A,mrp and sly of Streptococcus suis were detected. Conclusion The patients are infected with type 2 Streptococcus suis.
