The clinical observation of Montelukast Sodium in the treatment of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease

Objective To explore the role of Montelukast Sodium in the treatment of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.Methods Fifty patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease were randomly divided into treatment group(n = 26) and control group(n = 24).Control group was given intravenous antibiotics,cough and phlegm,asthma,oxygen and other symptomatic treatment,the treatment group received additional services on the basis of Montelukast Sodium tablets 10 mg/d,4 weeks for a course of treatment.Results Compared with pre- treatment and post- treatment,there is no significant difference of FEV_1%and FEV_1/FVC%in the control group.Compared with pre - treatment,post treatment there is significant difference of FEV_1/ FVC%and FEV_1%in the treatment group(P0.01).Compared with pre- treatment,PaO_2 increased and PaCO_2 decreased significantly in the two groups(P0.01),which is more obvious in the treatment group(P0.01).Conclusion The clinical efficacy of Montelukast Sodium in the treatment of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease is obvious.
