Abstract

Aim:To explore the relationship of β-fibrinogen gene -455G/A polymorphism and susceptibility of cerebral infarction in young and middle-aged patients. Methods:Genomic DNA in 78 subjects with cerebral infarction and 62 healthy controls were purified with DNA purification kits. Polymerase chain reaction of restricted fragment length polymorphism (PCR-RFLP) method was applied to determine the bi-allelic polymorphism in β-fibrinogen gene -455G/A . Results:The genotypes of A/A, G/A and G/G were 4%, 29% and 67% in cerebral infarction patients, and were 3%, 25% and 72% in controls(P0.05). The A allele frequency of allele was 19% and 15% in cerebral infarction patients and controls respectivrely(P0.05). Conclusion:The β-fibrinogen gene-455G/A polymorphism had no relation to the cerebral infarction patients.
