Abstract
Objective:To investigate the features of chromosome abnormality by applying cytogenetics analysis and its clinical significance in chronic myelogenous leukemia(CML).Methods:To prepare chromosome for bone marrow or peripheral blood cells by short term culture,karyotyping was performed in 70 CML patients by G-banding.To observe the clinical outcomes of the patients after treatment.Results:Of 70 cases,66 cases were detected typical Ph chromosome(94.29%) and 6 cases had chromosome number abnormality(8.57%).6 patients had variant rearrangement(8.57%).Extra chromosome changes were demonstrated in 4 cases(5.71%).The patients of chromosome number abnormality had poor prognosis.Conclusion:Chromosome karyotype analysis is important in the diagnosis,treatment and judging prognosis of CML.
