Abstract
Objective: To investigate value of cytogenetics in diagnosis and treatment of acute leukemia by chromosome analysis of acute leukemia and to analyze correlation between karyotype and prognosis according to cytogenetic classification standard. Methods: Chromosome of bone marrow cell was prepared by short-term culture method, karyotype of 77 acute leukemia patients was analyzed by G banding, and follow-up was done among the 63 patients received induction treatment. Results: In the 77 acute leukemia patients, detection rate of abnormal chromosome karyotype was 79%.And the first complete remission rate was 78% among the 63 patients that received treatment.Prognosis of patients with normal chromosome karyotype and typical t(15;17) was good. Conclusion: Over 70% acute leukemia patients have abnormal chromosome.Change of cytogenetics is an independent influence factor of prognosis in acute leukemia patients.
