Abstract
ObjectiveTo determine the expressions of laminin receptor(LN-R) and vascular endothelial growth factor(VEGF) in gastric adenocarcinoma and their clinicopathological significance. MethodsImmunohistochemical staining was performed in 76 cases of paraffin-embedded gastric adenocarcinoma tissues and 10 normal gastric mucosa tissue specimens with mouse-anti-human LN-R and rabbit-anti-human VEGF polyclonal antibodies. ResultsThe expression of LN-R and VEGF in gastric adenocarcinoma was obviously higher than that in normal gastric mucosa tissues(P 0.05). The expression was significantly associated with the depth of invasion,tumor size and lymphatic node metastasis(P 0.05).The positive expressions was negatively related with survival time(P 0.05). ConclusionOur results indicated that LN-R and VEGF expressions are closely related to cancer angiogenesis,and might be an important parameter for evaluating the metastasis and prognosis in gastric adenocarcinoma.
