Abstract

Objective To investigate the clinical efficacy and complications of the functional endoscopic sinus surgery for chronic sinusitis. Methods 167 patients in our hospital with chronic sinusitis and nasal polyps, nasal endoscopic surgery were chosen, and they were followed up for 1 year and 6 months after the treatment.Retrospectively analyzed their clinical situation. Results the cure rate was 85.02%(142 cases),improvement rate 10.77%(18 cases) and inefficacy 4.19%(7 cases),the total effective rate 95.79%;Postoperative complications: bleeding and swelling of the eyelids, nasal adhesions, nasal blood and so on.Conclusion The endoscopic sinus surgery is effective to patients with chronic sinusitis and nasal polyps. The clinical efficacy and complications are closely related with the clinical types, and skilled surgical procedure and standardized postoperative follow-up.
