Treatment Observation of Tongfu Renchang Decociton on Treating Chronic Functional Constipation

Objective:To study clinical effect of Tongfu Runchang Decoction for treating chronic functional constipation.Methods:According to the Rome Ⅲ standard of diagnosis,treatment and exclusion criteria for functional gastrointestinal disorders,120patients with confirmed diagnosis of chronic functional constipation were randomly assigned to 2 groups in single-blind way.The 60 patients in experimental group were treated with Tongfu Runchang Decoction,while the other 60patients in control group were treated with Maren Pill.Results:Compared with control group,symptoms such as each defecate time,the feeling of anus obstruction,shortness of breath,abdominal distention,change of the defecate characters,defecate arduous and so on are improved more apparently in experimental group(P0.05).Chinese medicine treatment needs certain time to take significant effect.In experimental group,therapeutic effect assessment at the end of treatment showed that 21patients were cured,19markedly effective,11improved,8treated in vain and 1off cases,while the 60patients in control group were treated with Maren Pill showed 10,17,12,19and 2respectively.The total effective rate was 86.44% in experimental group,while was 67.24% in control group.There was significant difference in the comparison of the two groups(P0.05).No adverse event or abnormal test results occurred during the treatment course.Conclusion:Tongfu Runchang Decoction for treating chronic functional constipation have significant clinical effect,high safety,low recurrence rate and has application value in primary hospitals.
