Application of tension,free hernioplasty with mesh,plug in inguinal hernia(A report of 116 cases)

Objective To summarize the recent curative effects of tension,free hernioplasty in inguinal hernia with mesh plug. Methods From August 2002 to July 2005,116 cases with inguinal hernia received tension,free repair with mesh plug were analyzed retrospectively.Results All cases were cured to discharge from hospital. Postoperative complications were as follows: 8 cases of urinary retention,4 cases scrotal hydrosy,2 cases persistent wound pain,1 case local mild protrusion with foreign body sensation and 4 infraincisional haematoma. All cases were follow,up. The follow,up time was from 3 to 24 months. Local recurrence was found in 2 cases. Conclusion Tension,free hernioplasty with mesh,plug is a perfect surgical operation. It's main advantages are simple manipulation, less trauma, tension,free, a good curative effect and lower recurrent rate.
