Abstract

Local universities are an important component part of higher education in China. Over the past 20-odd years since the policy of reform and opening to the outside world was adopted, local universities have made tremendous progress, but they have also met with such problems as modeling on key universities, blindly competing with others, setting wrong educational goals, and adopting a single educational mode. This paper enumerates the manifestations of those wrong educational concepts of local universities, analyzes the causes of getting into such difficult situations, and expounds on how to find a way out for local universities in general.
