Abstract
Objective The aim of this study is investigate the relationship between ACE gene I/D polymorphism and cerebral stroke.Methods 131 patients with cerebral stroke were recruited. The control group includes 50 age-match health cases.The I/D polymorphism of ACE gene was analyzed with PCR amplification.To avoid the mistyping, we used an insertion-specific prime.Results DD genotype shows clear differences among control, infarction and hemorrhage groups(χ~2=13.87,P=0.008)。 The frequencies of DD genotype in the patients with cerebral stroke was higher than normal controls(χ~2=9.21,P=0.002;χ~2=8.76, P=0.003). The D allele also exhibits among control, infarction and hemorrhage groups(χ~2=14.23,P=0.005)。 The frequencies of D allele in the patients with cerebral stroke was higher than normal controls(χ~ 2 = 11.17,P=0.001;χ~2 = 10.87,P= 0.001).Conclusions There was a positive association between the D allele of the ACE polymorphism and cerebral stroke.
