Analysis of Ureaplasma urealyticum infection of genital tract and drug sensitivity in people with infertility problem

Objective To study the genital tract infection and drug sensitivity of Ureaplasma urealyticum (UU) in young people with infertility problem.Methods Samples from 3 579 subjects (1 494 female and 2 085 male) with infertility problem were collected between May 2010 and June 2012.212 normal subjects with the history of pregnancy and 265 male subjects were selected as control.Samples were collected from the cervical secretions or from the urethral secretions,semen and prostatic fluid.Drug sensitivity test was performed on the patients with positive test for mycoplasma.Results The UU positive rate of the patients was higher than the healthy subjects.In the male infertility group,the UU positive rate was 32.2% when compared with the control group (5.3%).In the female infertility group,the UU positive rate was 57.5% when compared with the control group (10.4%).The differences were statistically significant (P0.01).UU was found to be more sensitive to josamycin,hydrochloridedoxycycline and clarithromycin.UU was less sensitive to ofloxacin,levofloxacin,azithromycin and sparfloxacin.Conclusions People with infertility problem had a high frequency of genital tract infection with Ureaplasma urealyticum.The pathogens should be tested for the drug sensitivity before treatment.
