Abstract
Objective To investigate the association between infection with Ureaplasma urealyticum(Uu) and Chlamydia trachomatis(Ct) infection with female infertility. Method 98 samples of cervical secretions from female patients with infertility were collected for observation. Another 79 samples from normal women in child-bearing age serve as control.Uu and Ct were detected by polymerase chain reaction(PCR). Result For the cervical secretions from patients with infertility, the percentage of samples having Uu, Ct, and both Uu and Ct were 52.04%, 31.60% and 15.30%, respectively. In the control group, the percentage of samples having Uu, Ct, and both Uu and Ct were 11.90%, 6.33% and 0, respectively. The infection rate in patients with infertility is significantly greater than the normal subject (P0.01). Conclusion The occurrence of female infertility is associated with asymptomatic infections of Ureaplasma urealyticum and Chlamydia trachomatis.
