Abstract

OBJECTIVE To explore the distribution of pathogens from the blood culture of the children and analyzed the drug resistance of the common pathogens so as to guide the reasonable use of antibiotics.METHODS A total of 516strains of pathogens, which were isolated from positive blood culture specimens obtained from the children who were hospitalized from Jan 2008to Dec 2011,were collected, then the bacterial identification was performed by VITEK-32system,the drug susceptibility testing was performed by using K-B method, and the result of the drug susceptibility testing was analyzed with use of WHONET5.4software.RESULTS Totally 516strains of pathogens were isolated from 3528blood culture specimens with the positive rate of 14.6%,including 335(64.92%)strains of gram-positive cocci,167(32.36%)strains of gram-negative bacilli, and 14(2.72%)strains of fungi.Top three pathogens were coagulase-negative Staphylococcus,Staphylococcus aureus and Enterococcus, accounted for 42.05%,12.02%,6.98% respectively.167(32.36%)strains of gram-negative bacilli, top three pathogens were Escherichia coli,Klebsiella pneumoniae and Salmonella, accounted for 15.50%,10.66%,4.07% respectively.14(2.72%)strains of fungi.Drug susceptibility results showed that the drug resistance rates of gram-positive bacteria to penicillin was higher, 90.00%,the drug resistance rate to oxacillin, cefazolin, gentamicin and compound sulfamethoxazole varying between 40.00% and 85.00%,were least resistance to teicoplanin and vancomycin. The drug resistance rate of gram-negative bacteria to sulfamethoxazole and aztreonam was 55.00%,were least resistance to left-ofloxacin,amikacin,piperacillin/tazobactam and cefoperazone/ sulbactam, with the drug resistance rate varying between 15.00% and 40.00%,Lowest rate of drug-resistant to imipenem and meropenem.CONCLUSIONS Coagulase-negative Staphylococcus was the major pathogens in children with blood poisoning. It is necessary to reasonable use of antimicrobial agents based on the drug susceptibility testing to reduce the resistant strains.
