Abstract

OBJECTIVE:To observe the effect and safety of levofloxacin and cefotaxime in the treatment of bacterial infections.METHODS:74 patients were randomly divided into trail group and control group.37 patients in the trail group were treated with levofloxacin 200mg,po,bid,for 5d~14d and control group treated with cefotaxime 3g,iv,bid,for 5d~14d too. RESULTS: The clinical cure rates in trail group and control group were 81 3% versus 78 3%; effective rates were 89 2% versus 83 8%; bacterial eradication rates were 93 9% versus 90 3%;the incidence of adverse reactions in the 2 groups were 8 1% versus 10 8%.There was no significant statistical difference between the 2 groups( P 0 05).CONCLUSION: Levofloxacin and cefotaxime are effective antibiotic agents in the treatment of bacterial infections, levofloxacin for oral use is more convenient for patients.
