Abstract
Levofloxacin is a fluoroquinolones with a broad spectrum of antibacterial activity. A randomized controlled clinical study of levofloxacin was conducted campared with ciprofloxacin. The objective of the study is to evaluate the safety and efficacy of levofloxacin in the treatment of bacterial infections. A total of 52 patiens was enrolled in the study. 25 patients received levofloxacin and 27 patients received ciprofloxacin were assessable for clinical efficacy. The result showed that the overall efficacy rates were 88.00% for the levofloxacin group and 85. 19% for the ciprofloxacin group, whereas the bacterial clearance rates were 95.65% and 89.47%, respectively. The adverse ding reaction rate were 4.00% and 7.41 %, respectively. The results showed that levofloxacin was effective and safe for the treatment of bacterial infections. There were no statistical differences between the two groups (P0.05).
