Abstract

[Objective]To study the relationship between NsiI Polymorphism of insulin receptor gene(INSR)and essential hypertension(EH).[Methods]Epidemiological survey for essential hypertension was conducted in dwellers over 15 years old in Wu-Lian County,Shandong Province, and some correlated clinical markers were measured using. With random sampling,221 EH patients and 204 normal controls were chosed to detect the NSiI polymorphism of insulin receptor gene. DNA was extracted from peripheral blood leukocytes. Then polymerase chain reaction(PCR)combined with restriction enzyme digestion was used to detect the polymorphism. Finally the amplified gene was sequenced to certificate the mutant base.[Results]The systolic bolld pressure(SBP)and diastolic blood pressure(DBP)of hypertension group were significantly higher than those of control while other clinical features showed no difference between two groups;N2 allele frequency of INSR gene of EH group was higher than that of control(P﹤0.05).[Conclusions]NsiI polymorphism of INSR gene is associated with EH in Chinese population. N2 allele of INSR gene may be one of predisposing genes of hypertensive diseases.
