Abstract
Objective To investigate the correlation of insulin receptor gene G6244A polymorphism with the risk of essential hypertension(EH) in rural population in Dongtai of Jiangsu Province. Methods A total of 190 EH patients (EH group) and 94 sex-and-age-matched controls (control group) was enrolled as subjects.Genetype of insulin receptor gene G6244A was analyzed by gene chip technology. The differences in genetype and allele frequency distribution between the two groups were compared. Results The differences in height, waist line and hip line, and systolic and diastolic pressures between the two groups were of statistically significance (P0.05),but in the rest indices were of no statistically significance (P0.05).And the genetype and allele frequency distribution of insulin receptor gene G6244A showed no significant between EH and control groups (all P0.05).Conclusion No correlation of insulin receptor gene G6244A polymorphism with pathogenic risk of essential hypertension is found in rural population in Dongtai of Jiangsu Province. The further studies are wanted to validate our findings.
