Efficacy observation of Aztreonam in treatment of lower respiratory tract infections

Objective To observe the effect of Aztreonam Aztreonam in treatment of lower respiratory tract infections.Methods 56 cases of lower respiratory tract infection patients were randomly divided into treatment group and control group(n=28 in each).The treatment group received Aztreonam,while the control group received cefepime,both groups were treated for 7~14d.Clinical effect,Bacteriological changes and adverse reactions in both groups were observed.Results Cure rate and effective rate in treatment group were 46.4% and 92.9% respectively,but 21.4% and 71.4% respectively in control group,and the differences were statistically significant(P0.05);bacterial clearance rate in the treatment group and control group was 91.4% and 89.9% respectively,and there was no significant difference(P0.05);no serious adverse reactions occurred in the two groups.Conclusion Aztreonam in treatment of lower respiratory tract infection is safe,effective,and it is worth of clinical application.
