Abstract
Objective To study the clinical effect of the combination of aspirin and atorvastatin on prevention of the recurrence of cerebral infarction. Methods A total of 116 patients were randomly divided into two groups. After conventional treatment of first cerebral infarction of two groups, the treatment group received atorvastatin calcium tablets and aspirin enteric-coated tablets together, while the control group only received aspirin enteric-coated tablets at night. The recurrence rates of cerebral infarction and the variation of carotid artery plaque of two groups after 12 months were compared. Results After 12 months, the recurrence rate of the treatment group(5.2%) was significantly lower than that of the control group(19.0%).The carotid artery plaque rate of the treatment group(24.1%) was also significantly lower than that of the control group(41.4%).Conclusion The combination of aspirin and atorvastatin can decrease the recurrence rate and unstable plaque rate of patients,it plays an important part in prevention of recurrence of cerebral infarction.
