Clinical experience of lichtenstein tention-free hernia repair:a report of 228 cases

Objective:To summarize the experience of lichtenstein tention-free hernia repair for adult inguinal hernia.Methods:Two hundred and twenty-eight patients with inguinal hernia underwent lichtenstein tention-free hernia repair with polypropylene mesh.Results:The average operation time was 52.5 min.The average postoperative hospital stay was 5.3 days.All the wounds were healed without any infection.No recurrence was found during the follow-up period.Conclusion:lichtenstein tention-free hernia repair for adult inguinal hernia is safe and effective,with low recurrence rate,fewer complications and more rapid recovery.
