Abstract

Objective To study the difference of two testing methods on the susceptibility results of tigecycline against carbapenemase-producing Klebsiella pneumoniae. Methods The susceptibility of 23 strains of carbapenemase-producing Klebsiella pneumoniae to tigecycline were detected with Disc diffusion and MIC Test Strip(MTS),and the results of different methods were compared. Results The susceptibility rates of 23 straints of carbapenemase-producing Klebsiella pneumoniae were 95.7% and 100% respectively for disc diffusion and MTS.If MTS was taken as the reference methods, the minor error rate of disc diffusion method was 4.3%.Conclusion There is difference on susceptible rate between the two methods for the susceptibilty testing of tigecycline against carbapenemase-producing Klebsiella pneumoniae.
