Abstract
Objective To study the effects of azone on the percutaneous absorption of extract of Gastrodia elata Bl.in vitro. Methods Modified Franz diffusion cell was used as apparatus for skin perme-ation in vitro, excised rat skin as permeation barrier, the content of gastrodin in the samples was measured by HPLC and the effects of different concentrations of azone on the percutaneous absorption of gastrodin were studied. Results The percutaneous rates of gastrodin were 3.475,11.930,14.665,33.323 and 43.150 μg/(cm2 / h) respectively corresponding to different concentrations of azone in 24 h.Conclusion Azone can pro-mote the percutaneous absorption of gastrodin. In the experimental concentration range, the promoting penetra-tion effect of 5% azone is the best.
