Abstract
To investigate the relationship between ANP gene G1837A polymorphism and essential hypertension in Xinjiang Kazakans, the 287 hypertensive patients whose SBP≥140 mmHg and/or DBP≥90 mmHg and 190 normotensive subjects whose BP140/90 mmHg of Kazakans in Xinjiang are selected. Their ANP gene G1837A polymorphism by PCR-RFLP are measured and tested the association of this polymorphism with hypertension. Three kinds of genotypes of G1837A had got. The distributed frequencies of GG, GA, AA were 0. 79, 0. 20, 0. 01 of hypertensive patients and 0. 83, 0. 16, 0. 01 of controls respectively. The distributed frequencies of G and A allele were 0. 89, 0. 11 of hypertensive patients and 0. 91, 0. 09 of controls respectively. Both of genotypes and allele frequencies had no significant difference between the two groups (X2 = 1. 022,P = 0. 312 and X2=0. 583, P = 0. 445). It is conclused that the ANP G1837A polymorphism may have no association with essential hypertension in Kazakans of Xinjiang.
