Abstract
The Wu Dialect in the north of Zhejiang Province is an important one of the Wu Dialect, but there are lots of differences among the dialects of the ten counties. The consonants are different whether the nasal and the laterals sounds fall into two parts, the unvoiced sound and the is voiced sound. The distribution of voiced consonants such as dz, d , z and are not the same in the ten dialects. For example, in the Changxin, Anji and Huzhou dialects dz, there is dz, but in the other counties' dialects, there is no dz. As to the vowels, many differences exist in the four forms of vowels. For example, in the Tongxiang and Haining dialects , there is a , but there is no such sound in the other counties. The Y in Huzhou dialect in turned into , e i in other counties. The kinds of tone and the tone pitchs are very different among the ten counties in the north of Zhejiang Province.
