A Research on the Consonants, Vowels and Tones of the Jiaxing Dialect

Abstract
The Jiaxing dialect is one of the important dialects in the Wu speech of the north of Zhejiang Province. In its phonetic system, there are 31 initials, 42 finals and 9 tones. The description and analysis of its phonetic system can contribute to the dialect research and popularization of the common speech of the Chinese language as well as make clear of the corresponding phonetic relationship between the Jiaxing dialect and the common speech.
