Abstract
The Wu Dialect in the north of Zhejiang jprovince is a secondary dialect of the Wu Dialect. The Pinghu Dialect is an important one of the Wu Dialect in the north of Zhejiang Province. In the sound system of the Pinghu Dialect, there are 29 consonants, 41 vowels and more than an syllables. The Pinghu Dialect is complicat- ed, because of the internal diffrences, the mixture of the pronunciaton of the written language and the spoken language. By dscribing and analysing the sound system of the Pinghu Qialect, we can understand the relationship between the Pinghu Dialect and Putonghua, Which is conducive to the study of dialects and the popularization of Putonghua.
