Abstract

Objective To evaluate the safety of Lactacyd in local dermal and vaginal application. Methods We used acute dermal toxicity test, dermal irritation test, acute vaginal toxicity test, vaginal irritation test, and sensitization test. Results The acute dermal toxicity, dermal irritation, acute vaginal toxicity and sensitization of Lactacyd couldn't be observed. The obvious irritation hadn't be seen in low and middle dose, but inflammation, congestion, hemorrhage and ulceration could be found in vaginal mucous membrane in high dose in vaginal irritation test. Conclusion Lactacyd is safe for skin. However, it isn't adequate for vagina at high dose.
