Clinical Observation of "Jiangru Decoction" and Surgery for Plasma Cell Mastitis

Objective: To observe the clinical efficacy of Jiangru Decoction in the treatment of plasma cell mastitis(PCM).Methods: Eighty-three cases of PCM were collected and randomized into two groups: control group in which 40 cases were treated with lobular of breast resection,abscess incision and drainage or chronic sinus and fistulectomy,and Jiangru Decoction group in which 43 cases were treated by combined Jiangru Decoction with surgery.The symptom scores and clinical efficacy in both the groups were evaluated and compared.Results: No significant difference was found in clinical efficacy in both the groups,and the total effective rate was 100% after treatment;the clinical symptoms of crater nipples,breast lumps,breast swelling,breast pain,breast abscess and fistula were improved in both groups after treatment(P0.01).The symptom scores in Jiangru Decoction group were significantly lower than in control group(P0.05).Conclusion: Jiangru Decoction can alleviate the clinical symptoms of PCM effectively.
