Clinical Observation on Treatment of Type 2 Diabetes by Continuous Subcutaneous Insulin Infusion with Insulin Pump

Abstract
【Objective】To assess the efficacy of insulin pump in type 2 diabetes patients.【Methods】Sixty eight patients with type 2 diabetes were studied by two methods of intensive insulin therapy,32 patients were treated by continuous subcutaneous insulin infusion(CSII) with insulin pump and 36 patients were treated by multiple subcutaneous insulin Injection(MSII).【Results】To reach the target blood glucose level,the average duration of treatment,the daily insulin dose and the hypoglycemia incidence were markedly decreased in CSII group compared with MSII group.【Conclusion】CSII method may control the hyperglycosemia sooner and more effectively,and reduce hypoglycemic risk compared with MSII.
