Clinical Efficacy of Esomeprazole Combined with Levofloxacin and Amoxicillin and Clavulanate Potassium for Helicobacter Pylori Related Chronic Gastritis

OBJECTIVE:To observe the clinical efficacy of esomeprazole combined with levofloxacin and amoxicillin and clavulanate potassium for Helicobacter pylori(Hp) related chronic gastritis.METHODS:160 patients in our hospital with chronic gastritis and Hp infection were randomized into treatment group and control group from Jan.to Dec.in 2009.Treatment group were treated with esomeprazole,levofloxacin,amoxicillin and clavulante potassium for one week,and control group were given esomeprazole,levofloxacin,and clarithromycin for one week.The eradication rate of Hp,ADR and improvement of symptoms were compared between 2 groups.RESULTS:Eradication rate of Hp in treatment group was 81.3% which was significantly higher than control group of 60.8%(P0.05).The incidence of ADR of 2 groups were 10.7% and 14.9% respectively,there was no statistical significance(P0.05).Main symptoms of both groups were improved in various degree,there was no statistical significance(P0.05).CONCLUSION:Esomeprazole combined with levofloxacin,amoxicillin and clavulante potassium can eradicate Hp and improve symptom of chronic gastritis effectively after one week,so such therapy is the first choice for Hp related chronic gastritis.
