Abstract
Objective: To compare the cost-effectiveness ratio of gatifloxacin and levofloxacin in the treatment of patients with infection in urinary system. Methods: Principle of pharmacoeconomics was adopted to analyze the cost-effectiveness of two treatment schemes. Results: The effective rates of gatifloxacin group and levofloxacin group in the treatment of urinary system infection were 93.75% and 87.50% (P0.05) respectively;the incidence rates of adverse reactions were 6.3% and 8.3%(P0.05);The cost-effectiveness ratios (C/E) were 8.75 and 4.31 respectively. The cost for every one unit increment of effectiveness for gatifloxacin group was 70.91 Yuan more than that of the levofloxacin group. Conclusion: The cost-effectiveness ratio of levofloxacin is superior to that of gatifloxacin in the treatment of urinary system infection.
